A message from Jessica's Family

Losing Jessica as tragically and senselessly as we did has made us determined to make a change to save lives.  We had an opportunity work with legislation to change the current law, and raise the minimum driving age.  Thus, giving new drivers more time to learn how to handle driving a vehicle before they are sent out to drive on their own.

Teen Drive

A Message to Parents: Please take time to read the state's driver's manual.  Make sure you know about changes to Teen Driving Laws.  Upon obtaining their learner's permit, make sure your teen is given ample practice time behind the wheel LEARNING to drive before they get behind the wheel on their own.

  • Enroll them in a Driver's Education Course
  • Require them to log a certain number of hours behind the wheel.
  • Teach them how to be responsible drivers.

If your teen is a licensed driver...

Put rules in place for your teen driver.

  • No cell phone use while driving
  • No radio for the first month
  • Follow the state law.
