Encouraging Safe Driving Habits
Thanks to the many donations received after Jessica's death, a scholarship fund has been established in her memory.
We are currently able to award two $500 scholarships each year. Applications are available in the guidance offices at Perry Meridian, Roncalli and Southport high schools.
Minimum requirements – Applicant must:
- be a current graduating high school senior residing in Perry Township, Indiana.
- have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- submit an essay on ‘Responsible Driving – Making the right choices’. First, tell us about yourself. What makes you a safe driver? How do you set a good example for your peers and younger family members? Please include your thoughts on any or all of the following:
a. influences of others (friends, parents, etc)
b. choosing safety behind the wheel
c. habits and skills while in the driver’s seat
d. your personal experiences and examples
Your essay must be between 500-750 words, typed, 1” margins, paragraph spacing at 1.5 lines, Times New Roman 14 pt. font. - be accepted to attend an accredited higher education institution in Indiana in the Fall of 2011 (submit a copy of your letter of acceptance with this application).
